Nowadays, the popularity of online games is on the rise. There are 4 classes the player selects mid-match which carry over till the end; the class lineup is the staple of most class-based shooters (Battlefield 4 most notably) Assault, Support, Command, and Recon. Every kill, assist and objective damage adds points to your rank, working similarly to score streaks in CoD. Playing assault, my rewards were all based on heavy damage and explosives with a 6-shot grenade launcher being one of the first streaks I used to destroy an objective; calling in a drone strike mid-game. “There’s actually a big discussion in all of the simulation world and even in games about losing a patient and what that effect is on the provider or the person playing the game ,” Gantwerker says. Just the other day, I was watching TV and there was a commercial for a particular game that I won’t name but I will say it involves confectionery treats and what you can do to destroy them. I almost choked on my drink. Online games have taken to the television to advertise! Like it wasn’t bad enough that we saw them every time we went to search or opened a browser, now they are invading our evening television viewing. Well, that’s okay. Ignore it. You don’t need to play it just because other people are. Remember how your mother used to ask if you’d jump off a bridge? Well, don’t just off this bridge, either. The games are just that – games. And a true friend won’t force you to play them. At the time I was a CPGA golf professional and I thought it would be fun to buy my son a Tiger Woods game for his Wii system. Unknown to me was the “cheats” that existed. It was quite by accident that I happened to overhear my son and his friend talking about “cheats” for the game, as I listened they talked about going online and finding out where and how to cheat. Needless to say this was not only something you don’t want your child to be thin king about much less acting on. Angry and dismayed I took the game package and much to my astonishment it had the PGA’s official logo on the box. In April of this year Golf Clash creators Playdemic finally broke their silence on the use of cheats. Above is a snippet of the official announcement sent out to each player of the game. The message was several pages long covering everything from overlays to abusive language. It’s a massive step from Playdemic though to actually come out and admit that yes, people are using cheats to play the game. Some people prefer PC gamepads such as an arcade joystick for fighting games, while others like hand held controllers. Massively Multiplayer Online Games or MMOs, such as World of Warcraft, work best with gamepads with many buttons that are easy to reprogram.
