Preview: New PC Games in July 2021

The July games not only bring good weather, but also numerous reasons to avoid the sun. Among other things, “F1 2021” is the latest Formula 1 game. In addition, “The Ascent” is a promising action RPG and “Chernobylite” is an exciting survival role-playing game.

Chernobylite

On July 28, 2021, the dark survival RPG Chernobylite will leave the early access phase. In Chernobylite, players explore the exclusion zone, which was contaminated by the Chernobyl disaster, including the well-known ghost town of Pripyat. 30 years after the incident in reactor block 4, you return to the scene of the incident in the role of former power plant employee Igor in order to get to the bottom of the incident. Igor also has a very personal concern there: he has lost his girlfriend and cannot forget her even after such a long time.

On his journey through the exclusion zone, Igor comes across all kinds of contaminated vermin that make life difficult for him. However, he is not alone, as you meet other characters in the course of the game who you can invite into your own team. The team members can be instructed to carry out tasks independently, such as procuring food or resources. In addition, Chernobylite allows the establishment and expansion of a base so that you can return to the safe shelter at any time between individual missions. The game is already in the Early Access version at GoG available and will be around five euros more expensive on the day of release (30 instead of 25 euros). The full-fledged game is immediately available to every buyer of the EA version upon release.

The Ascent

When the Ascent Group, which controls and owns everything, suddenly and abruptly ceases operations, the cyberpunk world of Veles threatens to sink into chaos. Players slip into the role of a company employee who wants to fathom the events on his own and want to bring order to the chaos. To achieve this, you have to shoot – and not too little. The Ascent is an action RPG shooter that can be played in single player mode or with up to three other players in co-op mode (local or online).

The game takes place in the isometric perspective and offers not only effective battles, but also cyberware for adapting your own skills and lots of high-tech weapons that can be converted and upgraded. In addition, the environment can not only be destroyed, but also used. Thus, among other things, turrets and other facilities can be used for your own cause. Mini Motorways

Mini Motorways is the successor to the extremely popular strategy simulation Mini Metro from 2015. While Mini Metro was still about building and expanding a functioning subway network under time pressure, Mini Motorways is now taking place on the surface of the earth. In a steadily growing city, it is necessary to build a transport network that has to be constantly expanded and adapted to the needs of the city’s residents. The aim of the game is to avoid traffic jams for as long as possible. If there is a traffic jam that brings the traffic to a standstill, a game round is over and you have to start over.

Since the growth of the cities is generated randomly, each new round is different. This not only increases the replay value, but also quickly turns the hunt for a new record into an addiction. The cities at Mini Motorways are modeled on real metropolises such as Munich, Los Angeles, Beijing, Moscow or Tokyo. The game’s soundtrack adapts to the growth and dynamics of the current scenario. Mini Motorways will be available for PC and Mac on July 20, 2021.
